Simon Millar

Simon Millar has been the Executive Director at Pure Advantage since 2014, producing dynamic business and science backed thought leader projects that have touched the hearts and minds of thousands of New Zealanders.

The group's current project is Recloaking Papatūānuku - the largest Nature-based Solution ever proposed for Aotearoa NZ that Simon launched at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) 2023 in Dubai.

Trained in Science and Business from the University of Otago, Simon has experience in Management, Business Development and Sustainable Strategy in both corporate America and New Zealand. This work is underpinned by postgraduate study at the University of California Los Angeles, where he gained a wide-ranging understanding of environmental science, technology, systems thinking as well as earning accreditation as a Green Associate in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED GA).

Additionally, Simon has a substantive background in the entertainment sector starting in New Zealand, then based in Hollywood Los Angeles, where for two decades he was involved with over 35 Feature Film and TV projects as a Talent Manager, Producer or Executive Producer.

Originally from Southland, Simon is now based in Wānaka.
